TAMY'S STORY
Tamy grew up in a bustling household in Manila and learned the way of the kitchen at an early age. At the age of 15, she migrated to Edmonton, AB with her family. She, later on, decided to return to Manila and earned a degree in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs from De La Salle – College of St. Benilde where she met her husband Mike.
Despite having a busy career, Tamy found her calling in baking and it has become her passion. She enjoys cooking and baking for her family and friends to try. She attempts different recipes several times until she is contented with the outcome, thus she was able to develop a recipe for Ensaymada and added it to her repertoire of baked goods.
Today, commercially sold Ensaymadas do not do justice in the age-old tradition of baking the timeless classic pastry. After years practising and tweaking various flavours while staying true to the recipe, Tamy’s Kitchen YEG Ensaymada are now available.
At first, her ensaymada was given to friends and family as treats but through word of mouth, her ensaymada is starting to be recognized not only in Edmonton, but also in other cities in Alberta, provinces and even in the United States. To date, Tamy’s Kitchen Ensaymada has reached British Columbia, Ontario, California and Boston.
